Infrared Saunas

Full-spectrum infrared sauna cabin at Beit Sisu, Dubai

Private infrared sauna in Dubai Media City

At Beit Sisu you never share a sauna with strangers. Each of our contrast therapy suites at the Arjaan by Rotana Hotel in Dubai Media City has its own full-spectrum infrared sauna, a cold plunge, a red light therapy tower and a private shower – all yours for the whole session.

What a session looks like

Our infrared saunas run between 50 and 79°C. That’s gentler than a traditional sauna, because infrared warms your body directly rather than heating the air around you. We keep each sauna at its maximum temperature during the day, but just ask if you’d prefer it lower – the benefits still come at any temperature. Sessions are 30 or 60 minutes (if the room is free, you can extend to 90 minutes at the studio), and the sauna fits two people if you’d like to bring a friend.

Most guests combine heat and cold: about 10 minutes in the sauna, 30 seconds to a minute in the plunge, and repeat 3–4 times in an hour.

Why people come back

  • Relaxation and better sleep – a session helps your body switch into its “rest” mode, and many guests sleep noticeably better afterwards.
  • Muscle recovery – heat increases blood flow to tired muscles and helps ease inflammation.
  • Skin – sweating boosts circulation and leaves skin looking clearer and brighter.
  • Stress relief – a quiet, private space to switch off from the city.

What to bring

Just a swimsuit and water. We provide a towel, Gymskin shower products and filtered water, and you can watch Netflix or play music through the Bluetooth speaker.

Benefits

Spending 30 minutes in an infrared sauna encourages mindfulness, which can greatly benefit anxiety and depression. The National Library of Medicine highlights that sauna bathing releases endorphins and other peptides, reduces stress, promotes relaxation, and provides a mental break from your busy life.

Infrared saunas support mental health by regulating stress hormones like cortisol, encouraging better sleep, and fostering a balanced mental state.

Studies have shown you can burn up to 800 calories in 40 minutes. As your body attempts to cool itself down, it also increases your heart and metabolic rate making you burn more calories.

An infrared sauna session can decrease the production of cortisol, the main hormone for stress in the body.

A study by the National Library of Medicine stated that infrared sauna therapy can help with the side effects of chronic fatigue syndrome and help regulate hormones in our body that assist with better quality sleep.

Infrared saunas help your body with thermoregulation and facilitate what’s known as a parasympathetic state, where the body can more effectively digest and, more importantly, rest.

As your body cools off after a session in an infrared sauna, it sends signals – in the form of more melatonin – to your brain that it is ready to sleep, which helps send you off to your dreams even faster.

Infrared saunas are one of the best sources of quality relaxation, which helps improve both the quality of your sleep and your ability to fall asleep quickly.

Sweating is your body’s natural detox method. Infrared rays heat your body, raising your core temperature and triggering deep cellular detoxification.

The BUS study shows that heavy metals and toxins are more effectively excreted in sweat than in blood or urine. Regular infrared sauna sessions can help you detox heavy metals like nickel, lead, aluminum, cobalt, arsenic, and chromium more efficiently than other methods.

Infrared saunas reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while sweating boosts blood circulation and improves skin elasticity, tone, texture, and firmness. It also unclogs pores and reduces blemishes.

A weekly infrared sauna session leaves you glowing, and the more you sweat, the better you’ll feel.

Using an infrared sauna raises your core temperature, creating an environment where bacteria and viruses can’t survive. This heat boost helps your body fight off infections, giving your immune system an extra edge.

Infrared saunas boost circulation, directing healing blood flow to areas that need it most.

Infrared saunas speed up recovery by enhancing blood flow to muscles, reducing inflammation. The heat also relaxes muscles, further aiding in your recovery process.

We recommend wearing as little clothing as possible! A swimsuit would be best, or lightweight clothing as an alternative.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Hydration is one of the most important things before, during, and after each sauna session. Electrolytes are a plus! Going into your sauna as hydrated as possible will maximize the comfort and benefits of your sauna experience and keep you safe.

Avoid large, heavy meals before your session. Remove all makeup prior and avoid putting any products on your skin before arriving as well. During your session you will be sweating and releasing toxins a lot, and products on the skin can interfere with the detox process.

We provide you with one towel per person in each room and Gymskin shower products. Staying hydrated is the most important thing, so we provide free filtered water and cups. If you prefer, bring your own bottle and a staff member will refill it for you. If you would like, you are welcome to bring your own toiletries, robe, extra towels, and slippers. You may also bring a book or magazine to keep yourself entertained, or you may watch Netflix or connect your phone to our Bluetooth!

You have just flushed out a lot of toxins so be sure to replenish and rehydrate. At Beit Sisu we provide complimentary filtered water and cups, or you can bring your own bottle to refill.

However, if you do not tolerate heat well, or need the sauna temperature to be lowered, ask a staff member for assistance! We can also set a note in your account stating that you prefer a lower temperature. The great thing about infrared saunas is that you will enjoy the benefits at any temperature.

Yes, all of our sauna suites are completely private and equipped with an ice bath. The room you book into will be allocated to you for the entire time of your booking (30, 60 or 90 min sessions).
