Cold Plunges
Private cold plunge and ice bath in Dubai
Looking for an ice bath in Dubai without the crowds? Beit Sisu’s cold plunges are completely private. Book a cold plunge room on its own, or combine it with an infrared sauna in one of our contrast therapy suites in Dubai Media City.
How cold is it?
Our plunges are kept between 3.5 and 8°C. The water is cleaned around the clock: ozone is injected during filtration 24/7, and we treat it daily with spa-grade, non-toxic sanitisers.
Your first cold plunge
Don’t worry – there are no heroes here. Start with 30 seconds to a minute and build up over your visits. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, please check with your doctor first. Shivering afterwards is normal; let your body warm up naturally, or take a room-temperature shower.
Sessions
Cold plunge room bookings are 15 or 30 minutes, which gives you time to shower before and after. Showering before your plunge is required, and we provide a towel. Bringing a friend? The room has a one-person barrel so you can take turns (30-minute sessions only).
Why cold?
- Mood and focus – cold water triggers a big release of dopamine and norepinephrine, the brain’s natural energy and focus boosters.
- Recovery – cold immersion helps soothe sore, tired muscles.
- Stress resilience – short, controlled exposure to cold trains your body to stay calm under stress.
- Sleep – a morning plunge helps set your body clock for the day.

Benefits
Cold plunges are great for your brain. They reduce anxiety, improve mood, boost energy levels and immunity, and increase longevity. Studies show just a few minutes in cold water can spike dopamine by 250%, giving you a natural high.
Cold exposure also increases norepinephrine, enhancing focus, attention, vigilance, and mood. This can lead to feelings of calm, happiness, and well-being, helping to mitigate depression and anxiety symptoms.
Cold plunges and ice baths offer a unique fat-burning solution beyond the gym. Cold exposure activates brown fat, a special type that burns calories to generate heat, potentially helping you shed fat faster. Studies show that cold water immersion significantly boosts metabolic rate, with regular winter swimmers burning up to 1,000 kcal/24 hr more than their counterparts, even at rest in warm environments.
A 2023 study published in Biology revealed that a five-minute cold plunge left participants feeling more active, alert, attentive, proud, and inspired, while reducing feelings of distress and nervousness.
Cold stimulation also activates the vagus nerve, which regulates the nervous system during stress, suggesting ice baths and cold plunges could offer similar benefits.
Cold plunging can enhance sleep due to releasing melatonin and by aligning your circadian rhythm. Factors like sunlight and the sympathetic nervous system calibrate this daily rhythm. Morning cold plunges wake your body, activate the sympathetic nervous system, and synchronize your circadian rhythm’s “start” phase.
Regular cold water exposure reduces inflammation and improves blood flow. Your blood vessels contract in the cold, then gradually dilate, enhancing circulation and lymphatic function. This process, known as the ‘dive effect,’ puts your body into survival mode to maintain core temperature. According to Wim Hof, this boosts cardiovascular circulation, benefiting the heart, supporting mental health, and providing a high energy level.
Cold plunging helps your body to recover faster. Especially for athletes, cold water immersion is a relief to sore and burning muscles.
Cold water plunging boosts your immune system by stimulating leukocytes (white blood cells) that fight off infections. It also activates the lymphatic system, contracting it and pushing fluid through lymph nodes for a natural immune boost.

If it’s your first time, don’t worry, we have you covered.
When doing your first cold plunge – and you have any pre-existing conditions – please consult your doctor first.
We are often asked how long should I stay in the first time? There is no right or wrong answer here. On average, three minutes is a good marker to reap the full benefits, but there are no heroes here. Many people can only do 30 seconds the first time around – and that is AMAZING! It’s like any health modality, you will create endurance the more you do.
Yes, our cold plunge room is 100% private. The room will be allocated to you for the entire time of your booking. Each room contains a private shower too.
Before, yes. After, it’s up to you.
Shower before to cleanse and wash off any make up or sweat, then shower afterwards to warm up again.
We advise not to use too hot a shower after, best to use room temperature water and gradually warm things up from there to avoid any damage, tingling or pain to the skin. Or, save your shower for when you get home. That way, your body naturally warms back up, which comes with additional health benefits.
The sooner you get in a cold plunge after a cardio workout, the better the effects should be.
If after a gym session, best if you wait more than an hour after the workout, some of the healing and inflammatory processes in the body have already begun or have already finished and you won’t affect that healthy inflammation gained from weight lifting.
If you take your cold plunge in the morning, it will give you a great natural high for the day. It helps release serotonin in the body too which supports reduction of stress and depression.
Night time sessions are beneficial after a cardio training session, and will do wonders for your quality of sleep too.
Shivering is normal in terms of reaction to heat extraction.
Shivering also stimulates the breakdown of brown fat to provide warmth to the body and has been said to stimulate additional fat loss. For us though, it’s usually a sign to jump out as you can also continue to shiver even after you get out. And if you do, we often get asked, “what should I do?”. The answer is… nothing.
Let your body naturally warm back up, that’s best. Or, if you really want to, you can do some light squats or arm raises to bring some warmth back in.
Cold plunge room bookings are 15 mins or 30 mins slots, which gives you time before and after your plunge to quickly shower and dress.
Importantly please note:
Showering BEFORE your cold plunge session is compulsory and we kindly request that you utilise the towel provided for this.
Yes, you can bring a friend! Our cold plunge room contains a one-person barrel so you can swap*. An additional guest fee of AED 40+ per person per session applies.
*Bringing a friend is only available for 30 mins ice bath sessions
Our cold plunge’s primary disinfectant process is ozone, which is injected into the water during the filtration process 24/7. When dissolved in water, ozone produces a broad spectrum biocide that destroys all bacteria, viruses, and fungi. As an oxidizing agent it is 51% stronger than chlorine, and works over 3x as fast. We also treat the water daily with spa grade non-toxic sanitizers that keeps our water clean and pure so you can safely enjoy your dip in the cold.
